A SOLUTION TO SECURELY CAPTURE EQUALITY, DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION (EDI) INFORMATION FROM OUTSIDE OF THE CORPORATE FIREWALL:

OVERVIEW

The General Optical Council (GOC) is one of 12 organisations across the UK known as health and social care regulators. Its purpose is to protect the public by promoting high standards of education, performance and conduct amongst opticians. The GOC currently register around 29,000 optometrists, dispensing opticians, student opticians and optical businesses.

THE CHALLENGE

The GOC capture sensitive registration information and wanted to improve and develop this data capture process. The key challenge was developing the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) form which collects confidential information which must be treated with the utmost privacy.

They needed a solution which would ensure they followed the strict guidelines and regulations, as required by the Data Protection Act. In addition, this data needed to be collated and recorded for monitoring purposes.

THE SOLUTION

The Castrum team created an online form, designed to securely capture sensitive EDI information from outside of the corporate firewall. Castrum provided the secure storage to meet compliance regulations. The data can be extracted securely so the GOC can access the data and monitor the results.
